Shockwave therapy uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate healing in damaged tissue. It increases blood flow, breaks up dysfunctional tissue, and helps restart the body’s natural repair process—especially in areas that haven’t responded to rest or traditional care.

Shoulder tendon issues
Chronic soft tissue injuries
Shockwave is ideal for active individuals dealing with persistent pain that hasn’t improved with rest, stretching, or basic treatment—and who want to return to training without relying on injections or long downtime. It's helpful for restoring range of motion and address scar tissue adhesions.

Treatments are quick and targeted, typically lasting just a few minutes. The doctor will apply a cool ultrasound gel to the region, to help conduct the wave into your body. You will feel a pulsing or tapping sensation over the area being treated, similar to a small electric pulse, but no electricity is involved. Just a compressive wave that will stimulate cell response and help break up adhesions. Intensity can be adjusted to your tolerance to keep the treatment effective but manageable.
It can be uncomfortable in sensitive areas, but intensity is adjusted to your tolerance. Most patients find it very manageable.
Many patients notice improved range of motion on their first treatment. Most conditions respond within 4–6 sessions, depending on severity and how long the issue has been present. We'll know more after your initial visit and treatment.
Some patients notice improvement after the first visit, but most see progressive results over several weeks as healing occurs.
Shockwave is a non-invasive option that stimulates your body’s natural healing process without introducing medication or requiring downtime.
Light activity is usually fine, but we’ll guide you on how to modify training to get the best results.
Yes. Depending on the treatment area, we have both male and female providers available. We also ensure proper draping so you remain comfortable and appropriately covered throughout the treatment.

30 Minutes
We start with a focused history and evaluation to confirm shockwave is the right fit. Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the treatment area.
We also have a female provider available for certain areas, if preferred.

5-10 Minutes
Shockwave is applied directly to the affected tissue using targeted acoustic waves. Intensity is adjusted to your tolerance to keep treatment effective and manageable.

It’s normal to feel some soreness for 24–48 hours as the healing response begins. Most patients notice gradual improvement over the following weeks.

Shockwave works best as part of a plan. We may pair it with movement-based care or loading strategies to help the tissue heal properly and stay resilient.

Dr. Cutler is a performance-focused chiropractor with advanced training in movement assessment and full-body adjusting. He works with athletes, lifters, and active individuals who want more than temporary relief—they want to move better, train harder, and stay consistent. His approach looks beyond the spine to address how the entire body functions as a system, identifying the restrictions and compensation patterns that actually limit performance.
